Phancy Phlox
Sony A700
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 200, 1/10 @ f22

Another of our humbler flowers, these phlox fill in a lot of empty spaces and provide a good ground cover below some of the taller plants. The dawn light play is what caught my eye. All comments welcome.>=))>

Bill:
The warm color is nice and I like the gradient as well.

Phlox may be humble but one Japanese garden I visited last year make full use of the colors to make kimono patterns covering a large patch of the hillside.

I like the light Bill but it's the comp and the patterns that really appeal to me in this. I love all the different scales of triangles. A very fine image of what I'd consider to be a near impossible subject.

A wonderful detail filled capture Bill. I would like to see all the frame filled with pink blooms, but that is just me, and I know you have to get what is given. Great capture.

These flowers are great to work with! I really like the group illustration in this Bill. The capture of the detailed center is a bonus. Really nice.

I love the wash of pink here, Bill. How did you light this?

Tim: Very early morning light coming from the viewer's right. This part of our garden is illuminated by the sunrise sifting through some trees at this time of year and there were just a few wispy clouds diffusing it as well.

The golden light is very nice. I like this with a tad cropped from the top to eliminate the dark area between flowers. Eliminating the bottom left corner could be nice too.

I really enjoy this phlox hybrid, I think we have planted 6 or so plants this year.

Lovely, Bill. How could anyone not like flowers as posted here. You have a good eye and you run a great gallery.

Very neat to get these small flowers to fill the frame so well, Bill. Love the textures of the petals in the light and in the shadows.
