Had fun shooting these guys the other day. I like the action in this image but wish I wasn't as flat on my belly as I was although I like the low angle. This low created that little bit of oof front that blurred out the one chicks wing. I struggled with the crop and any suggestions would help as I have posted less of a crop as well. I tried a pan but wasn't sure either. This is about 50 %

Here's more of the full frame minus a little rotation adj. I'd love some crop suggestions

Super interaction Cheryl. I like the crop in your first post. On my monitor the image seems a little bit dark. :toast:

Thanks Nate yes the original is dark as I didn't fix it since I cropped and then fixed it. :wavey: Is it still too dark?

To my eye the cropped version could also be brightened a bit.

Agree that it's a little dark, but I love the interaction here with the little one almost skidding in to get his share! Great low angle. Sharon

How can those chicks become that lovely bird? Great interaction shot. I like the second post. More detail in the black and there is still a nice view of the chicks with the entire parent included.

I like the cropped version a bunch Cheryl. Great action. The OOF area is of no consequence to me. I agree, a bit brighter and this will be super.

I love the chick on the right who, as Sharon suggests, looks like it's skidding in to get it's share ;^)

I really like the close-up Cheryl, as of course it brings up much more detail, but I'm not sure how I feel about seeing the adult cut in half. I think if this were mine I'd have settled on a pano showing all of the adult and slicing off the top portion of the frame taking out nearly if not all of the OOF green in the background.

The wonderful interaction/content more than makes up for the OOF front, a minor nit Cheryl.
Very nice details, exposure, and natural looking colors..
Well done! :toast:

Interesting family action Cheryl. I think I prefer the cropped version for it's intimate look at the behavior even though the cut off adult may not be ideal. I like the better detail of the blacks in your third version. The catchlight in the adult makes all the difference here.

I like the reposted crop a lot, Cheryl. I think you made an excellent choice of crop. We always seem to hate to remove part of the bird, but I think it worked much better in this case.

Wonderful interaction Cheryl. I like the last version best as it shows the chicks best. Really excellent work,
