This was shot at Hot Springs, SD during a lunch break from traveling. I would really like to get some input on how image this works. The only post processing I did was to clone out a dark red area in the background that was very distracting, lightened with levels and cropped to 80% of image. Thanks for your comments.

Richard,

This is one of the more painterly images I've seen in a while and I like that quality about it a lot. I love the bg in it. I'd have this on my wall in a second. I initially liked the spider and I still do but the image is such a classic otherwise that I might be tempted to clone the critter out. I think It's a very elegant image. Beautifully understated.

Richard:
I like image when I first saw it in macro gallery and the crop makes this even better.

Sweet image Richard. The natural browns and softness sure make this look like a painting, and that is in a good way. With or without the party crasher it's fine.

Richard: I do like the painterly feel of this. My initial reaction was that the flower is slightly underexposed and after viewing the macro version that impression remains. There are no values on the histogram over 200 and boosting the brightness even enhances the artistic impact IMO. I do like the party crasher. >=))>
