lioness lunching

Driving through the Serengeti, we came upon a group of lionesses. On closer inspection, we saw that they had a kill in the grass. So we parked to watch. Each lioness took a turn at feeding, laying in the same spot where they had dragged the wildebeest. They had created a "cave" in the grass, which formed a beautiful frame for the photos. It was early morning (7am) and the sun was low and cast a beautiful light on their cave, which fortunately faced the sun.

Great image margaret ! Agree with you that the cave in the undergrowth makes an awesome frame ! I also like how the lioness stands out against the dark interior of the cave.

You indeed have a wonderful natural framing here for this gruesome scene Margaret. Nicely done.
