Broken Tail

I've just dug this one out from a few years ago. I did this when I was learning the different tools/filters etc in P/S. The elephant shot was taken at Chester Zoo using my old D50 and is called Broken Tail. I used the flood filter for the ripple effect.

All comments, good and bad are welcome and thanks for looking.

Gary.

I like the monochromatic nature of this image. The oranges and browns and heading into the sun give me the feeling that this old elephant is reaching the end of it's life.

I like the soft light feel you have going on here, and the flood waters look good

Very nicely done, Gary. No way would I know this was a zoo. Nice work with Flood. Ditto on Mark's comments.

A really well put together image Gary. I have seen a lot of flood filter images but this one ranks at the top. :toast:

Cool! very interesting subject. the sun/reflection feel a tiny bit too far right--minor nit. :toast:

I think this is fabulous, Gary. If I could paint, this is the look I'd go for. Very well done.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I'm glad you like it.

Carol, just to clarify, only the elephant was taken at the zoo. The sunset was from another shot and the reflection was computer generated.

Cheers, Gary.

I would have guessed that this was a scene in Africa or India, Gary. Your processing is superb. I should have kept my old D50
