young Echinacea

I was playing around with my macro lens and extension tubes and took this close-up of a young Echinacea in my flower bed. When I clicked on automatic levels duing processing, the BG took on a purplish hue. I liked how it set off the flower and decided to leave it.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens with 21mm extension tube. F/3.5 for 1/5 sec. ISO 200.

BG works for me, Carolyn. Nice comp and sharp details up front. Nice job.

Carolyn, this is pretty with a slanted composition and nice details. You can make a series out of this by making three or more photos at different stages and put them all in one frame.

I like the bg too Carolyn. Glad you stayed with it. It's really your dof decision that I like most in this though. Love what it does to the back of the flower and the stem. Beautiful image.

Beautiful DoF and PoV in this. I really like how the petals seem to glow and the lighting is great. Well cone.
