When they bathe they really do ! -almost a frenzy of activity once they get going. At one of my four pool setups.Funny how once birds get used to a certain bit of water or a puddle they will stick to it even when there are floods around.

John, the crazy look on this bird is just terrific. You did a great job of getting the head in focus. I love the water splashing about and only wish there was a little more room on the right where the splashes are cut off.

Thanks
Carol- the reason I cut some off the right was to stop the head being too far left. I can see what you mean though.

Interesting behavior John. I like the water drops coming up and over the bird.

Great behavior shot. I like the feathers on the head. Not obvious to me what kind of jay this is. Too fluffy-and not one of "ours".

Great catch, John. You had the perfect shutter speed to keep most of the bird crisp but get those flying drops a bit blurred.
Excellent image.

Interesting behavior and I like that the head area is in focus and you can see some detail there, nice timing to get this, well done.

Splish, splash, I was taking a bath ... I like the alert pose and sharpness of the bird and the outwardly radiating spray.

Fun shot, John. Nice to be able to count on them coming back to a particular spot. Almost seems like it is focused on someone to the left and showing off.....
