Milkweed - Challenge-Repost
by Barbara Sammons
As I'm sitting in my drawing class today, I had an idea of combining my pen and ink drawing and a photograph of the same plant. One of my issues is that my drawing was done in a small journal.
After class I photographed the plant, a single stem from a milkweed plant, and then I photographed the page from my journal. Now how to combine the two? And then I decided I wanted to add some text to the image and possibly some texture overlay.
I created a new file for the text, using various fonts. I enhanced the image of the milkweed in Viveza to bring out the colors and brightness. Then I enhanced the image of my pen and ink drawing and resized it to fit the flower image. I placed the text file on top of the flower and then I placed the pen and ink drawing file on top of that. Once I was happy with all the placements I then added Citron Vert texture overlay with a blending mode set at Multiply and opacity at 68%. Once more back in Viveza to brighten it up just a bit.
I think this was time well spent to try something new, but I welcome your comments and thoughts. I'll post the original images of the flower and the pen and ink drawing.
