My stars!

Another shot from my trip this last weekend. I used a translucent white diffuser for the background for this one to try to create a set-up type of shot. I boosted the exposure enough to make it bright white for a more high-key type of shot as well.

5d, 28-135mm (w/macro), tripod

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

An exceptional high key image. Like the curving stem, position of the flowers and the colors. :toast:

Geez Morris, they're shooting all over. You can't hide. As Gary said fantastic curve. The higher key works very well.

Beautiful image Morris. I think your setup worked very well. I like the high key and I'm impressed that the colors are so rich. Very fine work.

Striking image Morris. Just went back to see the "Shooting Star" image and that was excellent as well. Like both, but prefer the high key effect a little more. Nice work. :wavey:

Terrific! They look like they're dancing. The high-key effect is great.

Morris, I really like the usage of the white bg in this. The purples just pop and the overall comp is superb. Nicely done.

You did a great job with the background and isolating these beauties. You are really showing them off nicely here. Beautifully done!
As a small nit... there is a shadow of a crease in your reflector in the lower left corner and slighter still on the lower right (if you look at the monitor from an angle, it's there). I'd probably blur that out to get the solid white at its best. Very, very minor.

Sweet shot Morris. The high-key nature of this really sets the flowers off. Beautiful detail and color in the shooting stars.

I really love your shooting star images. These little guys are not an easy capture in the wilds. Your color is spot on and the dof has both images well focused. Very nice
