Scott's Oriole

Another take on the same Scott's Oriole, this time on a set up perch, baited with watermelon and water. This morning I went out and found one in better plumage and will work on him over the next week or so. (take a look at this guy's central rectrices--talk about worn!)

I appreciate your comments and critiques. Please view the larger version if possible.

Brian, Nice little tilt of the head and I like detail, exposure and comp. Neither plumage or flowers are in their prime but as I age I appreciate non-prime more and more, as in this case. Nice background colors also.

Sweet lighting and a great range of colors with perfect exposure. A cool bird to boot

Lovely image and detail. Great color and light. I'd like a little more room on the bottom. Would like to say more, but I have to go look up what rectrices are.

Very attractive pose, color and detail, Brian. I wonder how he wore out his central rectrices so badly? Maybe feather-feather contact.

Wonderful feather detail, colors and background on the larger version. I happen to like this composition better than the previous post but it may be to a nice blending of colors along with the perch and detail, well done.
