Not sure what variety of Pink this is but its very small and delicate.
Did it whith both pale and dark backdrop but I think the dark brought out the frills more.
D7000 Sigma 150 macro.
200 ISO 8oth @f7.1
three images CZM
Crop from horizontal. Levels in PSPrpo 7

John:
Like this low key bg. The frills actually looks like starburst on thumbnail. Good stack. Well done.

Love the triangular comp John and I can't imagine a bg that works better than black. (smile) Excellent detail from the stack and a fascinating subject as usual. I think this is the first image I've seen of these. Very fine photography for my tastes.

Lovely arrangement, and a beautiful subject! I think you made the right choice with the black BG! Only thing I might suggest would be to bring up the whites on the right flower to more closely match the other two. Outstanding image!

Beautiful image. I like the triangular placement with the top flower receding, giving a three dimensional feel to the arrangement. Well done! Prefer the second post. :toast:

The detail here is great. And you are right the black really causes the flowers to pop.

Great job on this one. Love the comp and the processing. Reminds me of 3 kids having a hissy fit. :jump:

I have never seen this variety of Dianthus before. Beautiful work with the lighting and comp in my opinion. I think you captured the unique design of the petals very well and the black backdrop is perfect!

I find this photo intriguing because the black background exemplifies the delicateness of the flowers.

I wonder what it would look like with a baby blue background. Might be nice and subdued for placement in a bathroom, i.e.

The comp also reminds me of fireworks.

Tom- funnily enough here's a high key one. Almost like you suggested but I decided to post the other.

John: I'll have one of each. I think if I had to make a choice I would go for the second version but these are wonderful. Really nice work. >=))>
