Thank you for your positive comments and beneficial suggestions on my previous image of Wotans Throne.

For sunrise, I drove to Point Imperial on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. The thunderstorm from the prior evening had left a lot of dust and haze in the air, and coupled with some thin clouds to the east, sunrise imparted a nice red light on the canyon rim.

Nikon D90, Nikon 16-35 @ 35mm f/8, ISO 200
Image is a two image blend with one for the sky.

Sweet light. This is beautiful. The subtle colors in the sky really compliment the reds of the canyon.

Another exceptional Grand Canyon image, Doug! Such beautiful light you had, and the blend is flawlessly executed.
You might consider cropping he top down to the warmer parts of the sky.

Nice one Doug! Pretty light and layers. Not completely sure about the centering, but it looks fine as is.

Hi Doug - the soft lighting and layers in this image are both wonderful. The hint of light on the nearest point is also a nice bonus. I really like this a lot - nice work!

but not convinced about the centering.

The crop suggested by John does bring the foreground rock into more prominence, if that is what you wanted. The clouds above are quite pleasing in color and tones, but I like his suggestion. Still, this is a grand image! The colors, layers, receding tones all combine to be top shelf!

One of the best of this place I've seen, Doug. You had some really great light for both evening and morning.

Sweet light and love all those layers and bands of color. The crop suggestion definitely looks good, but I like it as is too. Hard to find a nit in this one.

Thank you for the comments and the crop suggestion. I think it will open up the top of the image and put more focus upon Mt Hayden.
