Jangha

This is Jangha, a red-capped mangabey in Calabar, Nigeria. This monkey is "captive," currently living in a rehabilitation facility with the hopes of one day being released back into the wild. The facility is hosted by an amazing primate education and conservation org called CERCOPAN (www.cercopan.org). CERCOPAN works to conserve Nigeria’s primates through sustainable rainforest conservation, community partnerships, education, primate rehabilitation and research.

I took this photo with a Sony camera.

Welcome to the wildlife gallery Kristine ! A cute character to start with. There appears to be good detail in the face, especially the eyes. You had difficult light to deal with. The white fur on the left cheek looks a little washed out. But thats really minor and for some strange reason doesnt bother me that much. Would love to have seen this a little bigger so we could appreciate the image better and provide more accurate feedback.

Welcome Kristine. This is a very cool species that is certainly not easily photographed. You did well here considering the forest lighting. I like that intense, curious look. Great job, hope to see more posts from you in the future. :toast:
