Yellow mushrooms

These mushrooms suddenly appeared one day out behind our property under some trees. Within 2 days they were gone. Some type of little flies were swarming all over these mushrooms. Don't know what kind of mushroom these are but I loved their look. I find mushrooms and their short life cycle fascinating.

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/2.8 for 1/40 sec. ISO 400.

I share you fascination with mushrooms. Don't think I have ever seen this kind here in Oregon. They always have various plant material clinging, from their trip up through the soil and undercover. You have created a very nature scene.

Nice mushroom image. The yellow stands out nicely against the background and I like the comp. Mushrooms are fun to shoot. When we lived in Tennessee there were all kinds of colorful and unique mushrooms to shoot.

I agree that mushrooms are very interesting and hard to photograph. You've got these well separated from their surroundings. I also like the red-eyed on the left one.

Carolyn:
The bright yellow must be a magnet for insect and there are sure a few on them. Good choice of DOF. I find the sharp foreground a little distracting and blurring that will keep the viewer focus on the mushroom.

Great DoF and detail in this. The comp is wonderful and the colors just pop.
