Crescent at Cannon

Had a crescent moon at Cannon Beach recently--- I think the monochrome looked better than the color so here goes....

The halo around the stack on the left is not due to processing--the light on the left was lighting up the back of the sea stack a lot causing this effect.

I really thinking this night was going to be better but Mr Marine layer did its thing, as usual( locals will know what I'm talking about!)
Comments are as always very welcome.

Its a good image, I like the composition and the sky and the moon. I would have liked some texture in the rocks but obviously there wasnt much light on them. One can alomst see some texture on the rocks to the right.

Hi Jack - As mentioned, a little added exposure to the rocks would add to the image for me, perhaps processing the RAW again and blending? Great mood procued by the monchrome.

Seriously dark and moody, Jack. Love it. The moon is a nice touch.

The strong silhouettes work here and I really like the abstract quality of the light. My mind easily flips the sky and the clouds, though I'm not even sure there is any sky here, maybe it's all clouds, but then, why would the moon be so clear  Enjoying this confused state and the image.

This is some good lemonade from those lemons. I'd like to compare a shot with shadow detail, but am not sure I would like it better. the silhouettes are very good too. I see exactly what Tony is saying, very cool Jack!
