Blackbird
Sorting out some old stuff and came across this. Thaken through my sons window in terible light
D100 Sigma 50-500
500ISO 30th sec @f8
70% of full frame. Quite noisy so neat Image Not a great shot by todays standards but I thought nice and moody.
Cheers

He does look pretty miserable!
LOVE the water streaks and drops on his back. Great pose, and very interesting setting.
Sure does not look as if it were taken thru a window - tack-sharp!
Something different - and very appreciated here!

John, I love the mood. The position of his head and neck, and the drops on his back, with the LOOK! I just love this image. It is beautiful one. :toast:

I think this is a very interesting shot with the look from the blackbird, water droplets on bird and rain streaking in the background. I might consider cropping some from the right to make the fence a "W" pattern. I know the bird would be centered then but it seems to add balance to the image for me, nice job in getting this shot, well done.

I really like the color and mood of this image. The weather conditions are captured very well and the bird is perfectly sharp, with good detail.

Great photo. Exactly how I'm feeling today with all this rain in Vancouver! I like how you have the entire foreground sharp and not just the bird. I agree with the alteration suggested by Jim - gives it a nicer look. I would have preferred your original composition had the branch and fence not been blurred on the right side. Nicely done, though. Very captivating.

I like it as is. The rain is well defined and makes the image for me.

Lovely image, John. The drops of water on the Blackbird are special and the trellis makes a great perch in this situation.

I like it too, John--the water drops on the bird and the falling rain are both really nice. I prefer the original comp because I like the vine coming into the frame and like have the bird off center.

Cool shot! I really like the streaking rain, and even for a higher ISO you still have very good detail. The water beads gathering on the birds feathers look really cool!

That's a sad bird on a sad rainy day. Great mood, I can just feel the rain.
