Snow leopard (C)

The young snow leopard Rilo has adjusted very well to his new home. He has even been seen climbing the trees in the covered exhibit. I was able to photograph him from right outside of his exhibit. Due to the trees the exhibit was fairly shaded, which presented some challenge in getting good exposure and stopping action.

Hi John,

Other than that front right paw, this looks quite sharp and you seemed to stop this action quite well. Overall a solid capture of an amazing species. In a perfect world a lower shooting angle would be nice, but I fully understand the limitations of your shooting situation - I'm not sure hopping down into the enclosure to get a shot from closer to eye level would have gone over too well!

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Great job under these shaded conditions John, well composed portrait shot.
Like the way the face is framed with the leaves and tree trunk here.
Not much you could do about the POV with the exhibit set-up..
Well done!

Nice job of working in a limited situation. Can you slightly tweak just the leopard to bring out a little more brightness?
