Wood Lily in the Ferns
by Wayne Jones
Wood Lilies grow in sunny openings in the forest, and so do hay-scented ferns, which I like a lot for a background, so I searched for a while to find them growing together. However, they were a bit TOO together, so I decided to shoot wide open to blur the ferns. For such a big flower, this required stacking.

Just gorgeous. Love the luminances and the sharply focused lily. The bg is just right with just outlines recognizable as fern.
BTW this look a little like Ram's turk cap flipped horizontally.
Beautiful composition and the exposure is perfect IMO. I also try to find ferns as bg's when hunting wildflowers. The varying greens and shadows can make very complimentary bg's as they do for you here. Great job on the stack, the details are striking.
tack sharp where it needs to be
good call on stacking with 2.8
