Light painting seemed the perfect way to capture the drama of this cave. This required multiple long exposures of same comp using different lights, and then layering them together.

C & C much appreciated.

Very creative shot David. Glad I read the blog as there is definitely a story behind this image.

This is even better after reading how you managed it. Awesome stuff.

Terrific image ! It is obvious that a lot of thought and effort has gone in to making it ! Love the eerie feel of the forest !

Remarkable image David. It has a mystical otherworldly feel to it that is quite enchanting. Only suggestion might be to back off on the blues a little bit.

Really great creative lighting here. I would darken the BG more and let the trees and cave jump out more

Where is Frodo when you need him? This does have an otherworldly feel, just like Lord of the Rings.
Did you find the ring?
Once again FANTASTIC!!!

Fantastic image, David! The warm/cool lighting is superb, and the composition is full of interest, mystery, and wonder front to back. Excellent technique and processing too. One of the most interesting M&N (or any, really) photos I've seen in a while!

Very creative.
I am sure you have spent lots of time to create and PP this image, but it pays off. Well done.
