The young are flying now butthe adults still hang around the farm yard. The variety of perches is un ending. They will sit staring at the ground for ages. Late evening.

Nice sharpness on the face John and I like the background. That certainly is a unique perch but it works for me, partly because of the rust.

Couldn't ask for a better exposure. Love the eyes. This is a fine image, John.

Another beauty, John. I like the rusty implement as a perch, it adds some nice lines to the composition.

Incredible detail in the iris of the eye here. Your entire series has been great.

What a cool perch! About as much character for a man-made perch as you can get. And oh...the bird is quite nice as well!!

Nice eye contact, rusty perch, choice of composition and background. The larger image shows nice detail and sharpness, to my eye the smaller version is a bit crispy on the facial disc, center of chest and bill, that is easily resolved by a very slight reduction in sharpening. I love how the eyes of an owl can make you feel they are looking right through you
