Its amazing to me how threes are able to survival without soil. Just to see trees growing from rock i just scratch my head in wonder. Taken at Gooseberry Falls MN.

Good choice for black and white, Todd.
I like the diagonal lines in this composition.

Todd, Amazing use of the tree roots as the foreground to draw the viewer in. Great work composing this as well to avoid the merge of the trunk with the waterfall.
I'd guess water needs to be whiter - on my monitor its tough to figure out that a river is flowing there. Making that flow a bit more whiter might help but don't take my word as final on it though.

Great use of a wide angle lens Todd. Exceptionally fine composition for my tastes. Superb conversion as well. Outstanding photography. Love the mood.

Hi Ram, yeah I kinda thought the same thing about the river in the background. Its kinda hard to see one because its black and white another because the wide angle lens makes it seem so far away. I have another version with the river being more white but it still lacks detail in the river because of the wide angle.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Good comp and great conversion. I don't personally have a struggle identifying the river, as it is a natural progression from the falls.

A very effective conversion and excellent tones throughout. I also like the contrast in the conversion. The comp is very well done, too.

Really great root composition drawing one into the image Todd, also a wonderful subject for a well done conversion. Good work.
