End of Day Lily

by Chris O'Donoghue

Gallery: FloraPosted July 31, 201136 views6 comments
I walked out into my yard the other evening and was struck by the way the Day Lilies glowed in the last rays of the evening sun before it dipped behind the shadowed trees. I grabbed my camera to try and capture the glow. I took a bunch of shots at different exposures but none seemed to be right to me so I ended up with this HDR image from 5 different exposures. I think it best captures what I saw. Any comments/critiques are appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

This is really nice Chris. Sweet light and the flares add a pleasing color complement and echoing shape. Beautifully done.

I like the light captured with this Chris. I think for my taste, I could do without the flairs. Just me, and not a deal breaker.

Superb composition and thinking here, Chris. I like the superb backlighting and the donut bokeh effect as if the Lily is looking at those donuts

Chris:
We don't see too many HDR in this gallery so its refreshing to see something different. Love the lighting and the shadow of the stamens on the petals.

The OOF flares really add up to the image Chris
5 images for the range so that must have been a really vast range to cover
very well done :toast:
