Day Lily

I've recently started working on a series of Day Lily portraits. Because of the heat, each flower bloomed for about 24 hours before withering away, making this an interesting series to work on. I wanted to illustrate all the subtle lines and curves in the petals and added some filtering to help bring out the contrast in the detail as well. One stem in back of the flower and some small patches were cloned out, but I've left in some of the natural patches on the stem from previous blooms, because I feel it looks more natural.

Your light and dof are very good. It is just a little tight at the top and left for me.

Very good start to the series Morgan. Iike the comp and the lines and textures are coming through very well. Well done.

A very fine image Morgan. Excellent pov, dof and placement in the frame. The stem looks great, I think you handled it perfectly. I'm looking forward to a fine series.

Morgan, Outstanding. I cannot find anything that can be improved upon. However I do believe Lilies with striking and rich colors will be a bigger hit with portraiture like this. :toast:
