Sorry I've been AWOL the past several days. Having a really busy summer at work and Chrissy has been wearing me out with honey-dos. Small price to pay though for her garden. Another one of our cannas. They love the heat as long as they're watered well. We've certainly had our share of the former this year. All comments welcome.>=))>

BIll:
You have some of the most beautiful Canna flowers I have ever seen. Chrissy is doing a good job of providing you with beautiful subjects. The color here is really vibrant. Lovely image.

Lovely, rich color and I like the tight composition. Glad you're back.

Love the detail and the brilliant, vibrant colors, Bill. If I had my druthers, the flower on the left would have been as crisp and delightful as the flower on the right. I see just a touch of softness at the tip of the left-most flower. Maybe there's a way to bring out some of the detail with post-processing; perhaps a luminosity mask and just a touch more sharpening in one some area ...

Regards,

Carol

Superb comp and color Bill. it get's no better than this. The bg adds a lot of interest. Perfect dof decision for that.

This is exceptional, Bill. Nothing to critique from me. Excellent color, clarity and composition. I also like the color variation in the background - it doesn't distract but it adds just enough interest to lead my eye from corner to corner and yet in the end also re-directs my attention to the main subject. Excellent work!!! :toast:

As a side note this has such a wonderful abstract quality and since it is in your back yard it might be interesting to see what this looks like as a photo-art experiment with everything in the frame rendered completely out of focus or with a gaussian blur layer throwing even the flowers out of focus. I don't usually think in these terms since I usually take a much more literal approach to photography but the wonderful colors in the background got me thinking... With the contrasting colors it just might work. I would certainly keep this version but it might be worth experimenting. Anyway, take that with a grain of salt...maybe I just spent too long at the computer today working with debits and credits.

Terrific Colors - love the dual "flames" in the frame. I have never seen Canna displaying this gorgeous and striking colors before. May be Chrissy's love and handling that does that :toast:
