Good morning,

Took this one a few months ago, forgot about it, I love it when I find pics and can work them all over again.
I like the comp. and soft colours in here. But not sure if it is too busy?
Comments appreciated!

Sindy,

I don't remember commenting on one of your images before so welcome to the Flora gallery.

Beautiful colors in this. I think the bg is a touch busy but mostly I'm not connecting with the composition. The in focus blooms are interesting but I don't think they're emphasized enough in the image to really get my attention. A crop from the bottom might help but the blooms still are not at power points or distributed in the image in a way that catches my eye. Certainly no big deal and it may just be me. See what the others say. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts and welcome again.

You have achieved as a significant part of this image something I try, but don't get as good and that is sharp edges of a flower with all else blended oof support to your subject flowers. I like that you have three separate flowers showing us a different view of themselves. I like it Sindy

Sindy, Welcome to the Flora Forum  and thanks for a fine opening post.

I like that airy dreamy limited Depth of Field look for this photo and the nice pastel shades of reddish pinks and yellows. I can see where Pat is coming from but in my opinion this would be a stronger shot if the OOF bud in the bottom left was not there or even more blurred.

But this has impact exactly as posted also :toast:

The pastel reds meld well with the overall softness of the image to create a dreamy image. It took me a while to find the sharp spots, but they add a touch of reality. Great shot.

Marvelous colors-excellent DOF & BG acc. to my taste. Not busy at all. May be I'd suggest cropping a bit the bottom part. Nicely done Sindy.

Beautiful photo of a beautiful flower. About you question, what do you think about a 5:4 format, that exclude the upper area of the photo?
Take care.

Lovely, Sindy! It's not too busy for me; however, you might experiment with a
top crop in which you eliminate the uppermost bloom. Nevertheless, its presence
makes for a very unique image as posted. Good choice of DOF. I like the near
high key effect.

Hi Sindy :wavey: Yes!!! It's a bit busy, what to crop? there are different opinions posted here, my choice would to crop the top section. Gigi.s idea of a 5:4 format would make this image even better

Sindy: I got buried at the office the past week or so and missed commenting on your first post here. I like this very much as is and would merely suggest a crop from the bottom to 4:5 ratio. Great to have you aboard the finest Flora gallery on the planet and looking forward to more. >=))> :wavey:
