OK you really have to se the larger version to truely appreciate this lotus. So print it big and hang it on the largest wall you have!
Great light, wonderful blue colour and the BG is just fabulous for this specimen.

First of all, this is a Water Lily and not a Lotus - a very common mistake and understanding usually. But the photo is absolutely stunning. The darkish background is appropriate to accentuate the glow from the Lily.

The glow in the bloom is great and the dark background set it off nicely. I especially like that most of the background is a single leaf. Is that the way is was or is this a composite?

Thanks for the comments and corrections.
Mark S. this is not a composite, I did do a few image stacks which may get posted but this is one shot and cropped to about 85% of the original.

Craig:
Gorgeous image. Love glow in the center of the lily surrounded by the dark blue petals. The partly rotting pad with radial pattern is just perfect for framing this flower.
Taking a break from avian shotting?

This one's electric Craig. It has a sort of surreal quality to me and I like that very much. Interesting and beautiful.

Sweet Craig. The flower is great but I really like the bg. It compliments the bloom beautifully.

Excellent water lily image. Colors-light-all details-BG just marvelous. Well done indeed.

The colors, light and shape of the flower radiate, but all this in front of the green leaf creates a magical sense. I'd hang this for sure.
