The Storm & The Rose

A storm is coming in above Rose Valley in Cappadocia, Turkey. The dramatic sky contrasted nicely with the white erdoded rock formations below and we had some great light to shoot. In the end this was my most productive day (or afternoon really) in terms of keepers in the entire week, proving once again that you just can't substitute for great light and dramatic conditions!

Canon 7d, 17mm f/11

p.s. I just noticed I used a file without noise reduction, you can find a noisefree image under the purchase print button

Facinating shapes and folds, Jorne. Looks like a facinating area. The amount of noise is very evident in the clouds, but that should be fixable.

Love the drama in the sky and the texture of the land, and I agree with the noise comment above.

What an interesting formation of rocks. Such great lines and neutral color. Your dramatic sky compliments the scene. Nice comp as well. I see you already addressed the noise issue.

Dramatic storm light Jorne. I love those textures as well. And the comp leads my eye through the image

Such a fascinating landscape. This image works very well for me. The combination of the striking terrain and the ominous sky is quite powerful.

Interesting rock formations. The sky almost steals the show from them.

Too much sky, not enough rock. Crop a third of the sky off and you'll have a very appealng picture.

What a great scene, Jorne! The combination of these very interesting features with that foreboding sky makes this very striking.
