Old Man's Whiskers (Geum triflorum) and
Wyoming Big Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata)

Old Man's Whiskers is known by many other names including Prairie Smoke, Apache Plume, and Avens. I find the seedheads (shown here) more attractive than the blossoms. Thanks for looking

These also resemble spent Pasque Flowers so much. I have seen Prairie Smoke posted here just once in the last 2 years or so. I like the two distinct groupings and the background, Nancy. A small crop from the bottom may also look nice here.

Very beautiful colors and lines in the seedheads. I tried using my screen to look at this with the crop Ram suggested, and I think that would be great.

The Geum seed heads are and I like where they're positioned and how well they standout from the background. I agree with Ram that cropping the oof sage at the bottom looks like an improvement, but that's a minor nit. This is beautiful as posted.

You've piqued my interest. I'd like to see more of both of these plants. The old man's whiskers seedheads make lots of interesting designs, and the sagebrush is made of a unique green. Nice work, Nancy.

Well done Nancy - at least for my tastes. I like Ram's suggestion of the crop but that's the only change I can see. Strong composition, interesting image.

A very nice environmental portrait and I might could see a touch off the top and bottom, or maybe just darken the top leaves a little. Well seen and captured.

Nancy:
I like how you keep posting these uncommonly photographed plants and flowers rather than the usual common flowers. Very interesting whiskers in this one. I like Ram's suggestion of a crop and would probably go further and suggest an even tighter crop all round to showcase this unusual flower.

Nancy: I do like the environment but for me the whiskers are the star of the show. I would like to see a tighter horizontal crop with this same DOF management. Nicely seen and captured. >=))>
