Colorado has had an epic wildflower season. Out doing some landscape when I ran across this hummer. Lucky I had the big gear along. 1DMKIII, 500 & 1.4, ISO 500, F 6.3, 1/1000 sec.

Bob - this is a beautiful shot! The colours and composition are wonderful, and his expression, position and posture of anticipation all help make this stand out as a beautiful moment captured. The sharpness of the flower is staggering, but sadly betrays the comparative slight loss of sharpness on the hummer. Still, this one is special, IMO!

Having spent the last two weeks photographing hummers in my yard I can appreciate this shot! Well done!

Great bokeh and I love the composition, Bob. The bird looks just a bit soft, but it fits with the rather painterly feel of the image.
