This is one of my favorite pictures, it was taken early morning in late fall with first snow on the ground, enjoy it...

Very beautiful image Verdon, I definitely can understand why it is a favorite of yours. It isn't often you can capture snow and autumn leaves at the same time, the herd of elk with bulls makes it even more remarkable. You even caught some leaves falling. One suggestion here would be to give the photo a little bit of ccw rotation, the grass is slanted (your Canon viewfinder is likely askew...that happens, might have been a recall on it?!?.. ) Is this in Banff or Jasper? This impressive photo has me really wanting to get out this fall and try for something along this line. :toast:

Just beautiful !

My only wish is for a little more separation between some of the overlapping heads. That is however really minor and it looks pretty as it is.

Agree with gary about the rotation.

Wonderful fall scene, I like the overall composition (does seem to need a cc rotation) with the snow and leaves falling. The light contrast also adds to the image, nice job in getting this, way to go.

It's a lovely scene Verdon with a nice play of light and those bright yellow dwindling leaves. Ideally the deer would have been a bit more co-operative and positioned themselves a little better, but that was totally beyond your control and always the challenge with photographing groups of animals. :toast:

Hi Verdon,

A very pleasing scene. I'm in agreement with the previous comments so won't repeat them. Altho' this is always hard to say without seeing the full-frame (and this may well be full frame), I'm wondering if a slight cropping off the left side of the frame - accompanied by addition of the same amount of space on the right side - might work a little better for me. I'm wanting to see just a tad more space on the right (so that the upper boughs of the aspen tree aren't clipped by the edge of the frame and to give the right-most bull a little more room to look into).

Cheers...

Brad

A very beautiful image here! I like the yellow of the tree foliage and the leaves falling down on the deer. The image looks tilted to me too. I am not sure it can be corrected unless you manage to restore the right bottom corner somehow that will be missing after rotation.
