Red Fox - on the run

Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) - Essex, UK
Canon 1Ds Mk3, 600/f4, Gitzo 3530LSV, Wimberley WH2.
Manual exposure mode f6.3;1/1000, iso 200.
RAW image processed in Capture One; sharpened in Photoshop CS5; noise reduction using Noiseware Professional Imagenomic; full frame.

This is a very boisterous juvenile male red fox that I've been trying to photograph for some weeks. He is huge and he barks more than any fox I've ever known. But trying to get close to him for full frame shots in the clear has been proving difficult. Now that the hay has been cut and there hasn't been time for much re-growth to occur is a good time for getting clear shots. Otherwise, if there is one projecting grass stalk in the field, you can bet that the fox will position itself behind it.

Wow! This is something special. The body position couldn't be better, with the raised paw and that stare. Colours and fur definition are outstanding. Can't recall a better fox image....

Phil the clarity is great and super colour recon it would be very difficult to get a better shot than this.

Top drawer shot of a rather handsome chap Phil - I know a couple of vixens that would go weak at the knees if they clapped eyes on him!

Very nice shot Phil, the clarity is exceptional. Unfortunately these are all but extinct in my part of the world.

I was impressed with the small image, Phil, but the large version is mind blowing. Superb work.
