Canola and repost of the front

Nothing more iconic prairies than an abandoned house and canola.
Have been making up for 2 months lost photo time while recovering and spend 31 hours this weekend traveling the back roads of the Edmonton area photographing abandoned houses and barns and the likes. Have a lot of editing ahead of me for when the winter months set in.

Excellent! Great colors and comp and love the selective focus.

Nice DoF Lorna. I like the warmth the yellow field lends to the scene. I notice a very slight tilt.

I like this Lorna, the shallow dof as mentioned is very good. Compositionally though I would like a bit more space to the left but that is only minor.

Cheers, Gary.

Very pretty ! The shallow DOF and brilliant colours are great here.
Needs just a slight CW rotation to level the roof, and I also might move the barn just a bit right in ythe frame.
Nice image!

Really a wonderful image, Lorna. It's always kind of amazing to me how this type of picture brings out so much emotion. Always wonder just what all happened here. Not really sure if this is tilted or not, could just be the way it sits there. Works very nice as it is for me and think I would prefer it this way, but that is just my feelings looking at it here. I also like the feel from just the building being in focus.

Thanks all for the encouraging comments, the image is level but the house is slowly sinking into ground as it decays. It is slightly off angle I guess just like me ! I have another shot with the barn and shed in the image also and will post it later.

Lovely colorful photo Lorna. Odd that a house has not windows on the first floor. Hope you are at or near 100% in health now.

Thanks guys for the comments and advice.Charlie it has windows on the main floor but mostly on the front as this is the westerly side it would be the coldest in the prairie winters.

Charlie this was the front of the little house a few hours earlier . I did not like this one as much as the other. The sun was also a lot brighter so when for a very very late lunch and came back to shoot it in a softer light.
