Same camera & lens combo
Someone suggested a square format so here it is.
I used Vertus Fluid Mask 2 to mask the BG
I pulled the BG color from the flower.

C&C please and thanks,
Dave

I like this a lot David. I think your masking really lets the detail in the plant come through. I also think the square aspect ration and centered comp shows of the symmetry well. Very fine work for my tastes.

Dave:
The flower looks great and the details are just fabulous. Also like the square frame which showcase the flower nicely. However, I am not quite sold on the bg though but this is just personal taste.. the bg color is fine but I thing the painted irregular outlines is competing with the shape of the flower somewhat. Perhaps just plain bg??

I like the detail, which provides lots of interest here. The color is great, also. But a plain bg would have allowed the subject center stage.

Very good detail in the flower and I like the square crop. I am a little ambivalent about the irregular framing though.

The center detail on this bloom is spectacular, but I have to admit I noticed it after the border. I think the border is creative and the color works well, but I think it needs to be bigger. The flower touches the lighter color at the top and, for me, it is competing for my attention. The square crop does work well especially since the flower is more triangular. It is almost there and with a little more bg tweaking, it'll be out of this world!

Here is a version without the emulsion edge.

Those pollen pods look like Cumin Seeds, David  . A Lily I want to shoot one day - Sego Lilies are so pretty and your composition and framing with some killer details makes perfect justice to that beauty :toast:

David:
I like the repost. The flower is really getting all the attention without the distraction of the border. :toast:
