Fossil Falls

Fossil falls is located near the southern end of the Owens Valley and is the ancient drainage course for the lakes that occupied eastern California during the Pleistocene. The water that carved and polished this basalt originated as far north as Lake Russell (now Mono Lake). After flowing through Owens Lake and Fossil Falls, the water continued to China Lake, Searles Lake, Panamint Lake, and during the highest flows, into Pleistocene Lake Manly (Death Valley).
Thanks and comments welcome,
Rudy

Lovely. The light, textures, color, and comp all come together to make this really sing.

This is really interesting to look at, Rudy. I like the different tones, great shapes and fantastic textures! I enjoy the comp you came up with too. Nice work!

This is filled with optical illusions for me, especially that background rock that looks like and alien owl.

A lot going on here Rudy. This needs to be viewed large in a dark room. Wonderful work.

An excellent rock abstract, Rudy. Love the warm toning and gritty textures. Wonderful rock art.

Cool image. I like the colors, shapes and textures.

I hope you post more from here. I have always wanted to stop and see this place, but in my haste to get north or home, I never made it. Maybe this winter!!

Feel free to post more here or at CANP. I would love to see them.
