Strange-tailed Tyrant

Just returned on Monday from an awesome trip to Argentine with Nate Chappell. Nate did an excellent job of organizing the trip, finding us great birds, getting us from place to place, choosing excellent places to stay and although I don't think he was personally responsible we also had perfect weather.

This bird is one of the endangered species of the Esteros del Ibera which is where we did most of our birding.

Nikon D300s, f8, 1/640, ISO 200, 300 + 2 X teleconverter, out the car window.

Thanks for looking and critiques appreciated.
May

Lovely soft colours and a beautiful (but strange) bird.

Who could ask for anything more? :toast:

Excellent job on a tough color scheme, May. Exposure and detail are great. The long tail makes for a challenging composition. This seems to work, though I might take a bit off the left-not at all sure about that though.
Excellent as posted.

Neat! Aptly named, that's for sure! I really like the background here, with what looks like some clouds on the bottom.

Nicely done May. Love that tail seeming to be blowing in the breeze and nice head turn. Great subject. Your comp works fine for me.
