Cicada

I had always thought of Cicadas as rather plain, drab insects until I found this one this morning in full sun. After a couple of shots he "buzzed off".

There is a golden spot between the eyes that doesn't come across too well in this shot that is absolutely amazing.

Nikon D300; Sigma 70 macro; f22@ 1/60th; ISO 200; HH; approx. 50% FF.

All comments and suggestions most welcome.

A magnificient image, Tom. That spot looks like a jewell and F 22 worked near perfectly for you, Could stacking have done any better?

That is amazing shot! Did you add any flash at all? Everything is spot on focused. The spot doesnt distract at all I don't think. It's part of the bug. Wish my brush with the Cicada came out this well.

Nice shot!!

Tom:
I have never seen cicada face on like this before and this is really very nice. The details are fabulous and the sparkle is beautiful. Well done.
