That's the last shot from "trilogy series" , one of the chicks is attempting to fly, the hummers did fly away but this year they didn't find the favorite nest because the rangers (it's just my guess....... ) did cut the branch from the tree!!!

MarkIII, 1/60 sec, F/ 5.6, ISO 500, 400 mm, 1/3 EV, tripod.....
Thank you for comments.......

I've enjoyed your images of the hummer nest. Sorry it's gone.

Excellent detail and a great angle on this one, Verdon. Great to get a catchlight on both of them.

A nice intimate view of these guys.

One of my pet peeves here is how parks are managed. It's not a "park", unless it's weed-free, a beautifully manicured short grass lawn, and trees are all nice and trimmed. Some of the best birding spots around here are slowly being ruined by "management" from parks folks.

Another interesting photo of these birds Verdon. I like the extreme OOF'ness of the wings of the back bird and the placement of the greens in the image.

A very compelling image to me Verdon. I too like the wings on the back bird and the bird in the nest. Overall comp works well for me.
