Painted Tundra

The highway into Skagway is a beautiful drive - in early summer when there are snow-covered peaks or in fall when the hills are covered with multi-colored fall vegetation. The various plants aren't very tall, but they make up for size in splendid colors. The variation is just amazing to me. We stayed in the area for 3-4 days and drove the highway several times for light and color. This is from about 4pm, when the sun was getting pretty low and fog was making it's way inland, but still letting a few shafts of light hit the mountainsides.

It almost feels like a blanket on this mountain, an old colorful quilt. Comp-wise, could maybe see cropping about 1/2 the sky.

Great colors and Tony nailed it with the quilt comparison. A slight crop does emphasize the peak and colors even more. Very nice.
