One Happy Bug +RP

This is the same Firecracker as last week, only with a different background and a big "smile" from the subject. Nikon D300s, Nikkor 105 f 2.8 wide open, Hand held with VR on. Spot metered, with minus 2/3 stop bias. Hope you like it. C&Cs welcome.

PS Don't know what happened to the upload, but this bug is RED in my version, brown here. Image is processed and exported in Lightroom 3, any ideas about why the serious color shift of the uploaded version?

Humm, maybe I need to view on something other than my laptop. Thanks, Barbara.

I have Red on a Mac. Cool shot, by the way.

Posted a shot in Landscape galeery and found out what I was doing wrong. Here's the shot in sRGB, which is what I intended.

It's important to convert images to sRGB for web display. I see that you've discovered your mistake on your own.

I think that the color fix you've posted is actually pretty extreme. The colors feel harsh and over-saturated. Toning it down a bit would help bring out the details in the bug. This is a neat shot. I love the incredible details in the wings!

I have to agree with Varina, this looks real neon-ish. But only you know what it looked like. Other than that, I like how this shot is kind of an ensemble of colorfoul patches on a dark background.

Actually, the saturation slider in Lightroom 3 was set to 0, but the vibrance was bumped a bit. When I toned down the brightness (below 0) it looks more real. But the bug was very bright red in direct sunlight, which was what caught my eye. Guess sometimes nature need to be unenhanced to look right.
