Prince William Fog
by Margaret Summers
Camped along the edge of Prince William Sound in Valdez offered a beautiful morning view of the fog rising off the water. The colors on a clear, sunny morning, were wonderfully vibrant. The fog on the water and the sun shining on the green mountainsides provided a very peaceful feeling. The fishermen were abundant, as were the silver salmon and the black bears. A fine place to spend a couple of weeks.

Technically I think it's a little heavy contrast wise as we can't see much detail in the mountains. And while the sky and clouds are quite beautiful, I think the sky is slightly underexposed because the camera's meter was compensating for all the brightness in the fog. Perhaps a multiple exposure blend could have cured the dynamic range here. But otherwise, you've captured quite a moment and I'm sure this will stay with you for a long time to come.
