In amongst them

Sometimes one just has to get down and get into the work.
The bud at the bottom is slightly missed on focus. Is it a deal breaker, or is there enough interest in the rest of the shot to overcome it?

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Beautiful image. Really says summer. The bud at the bottom is certainly not a deal breaker for me, although I think a sharper bud would be better. You could obviously crop just above the tilted SF in the LRC, but I don't feel strongly about this. Love the colors throughout the image, and the one large SF up front provides a great focal point.

Definitely not a deal breaker for me Morris. I think your composition here is the main image feature and it really resonates with me. If you hadn't mentioned the bud, I wouldn't have commented on it. For my tastes this is superbly done.

You said it all Morris, ". . . get down and get into the work" Your getting down and point of view really makes this shot special. Gorgeous flowers and comp. CONGRATULATIONS!

This is very special, and I think the bud is fine because of the POV and composition of the entire image pulling me in as it does. Beautiful image.

Morris:
The thumbnail looks really inviting and the image draws the eyes starting from the large SF into the distant horizon. This is how I view the image when I opened it and in that sense, I tend to agree a little with your assessment on the foreground. If the buds were a little sharper, then my gaze would probably start from that and move upward. You could perhaps try a 4:5 crop removing the lower portion of the image.

Not a deal breaker, Morris but even if it were there in focus, I am not certain it does anything much to the composition/aesthetics. I'd much rather avoid the foreground elements here.

Everything else is 24 Ct Gold here. Amazing work

This is a lovely image with lots of drama and good dof. I find the two unopened flowers at the bottom distracting and feel that cropping the bottom third really emphasizes that the three largest blooms and focuses attention on all of the blooms.
