Red Grouse on the Lammermuir Hills in the Scottish Borders. The heather moorlands hear are simply stunning with the heather in pristine condition.

The picture show the huge feet that these birds have which are rarely seen. The Latin name for the red grouse is Lagopus lagopus scoticus. Lagopus meaning hairy legs, they certainly got that right.

Interesting pose, but for me, the lack of sharpness on the eye and no detail in the 'brow' weakens the image. Be good to know the techs.

Ron, love the comp and it is nice to see this birds feet. The post's green works well with the green in the BG. I agree with Steve that critical detail is lacking a bit. Is this a largish crop? A very appealing image.

Excellent image Ron. Nice to see the feet. I am just waiting for the grouse to make its plunge into the heather. Wonderful background.

Sweet composition, Ron. I like the swaths of heather in the bg. Those feet are outrageous.
