I don't know about other places, but these are all over the place in Florida and Georgia. It's hard to come up with a different comp unless showing more of the web would be good enough and not just negative space.

Comments/critiques/suggestions are desired and appreciated.

Thank you!

Great detail - you got the plane of focus just right, so the spider is mostly all in focus. An F8 might have been a bit better still.
Nice bits of web too, and very complimentary BG.
Very nice!

Very nice detail and dof. The background works well to make the spider stand out.

Very nice shot, Barbara. Great sharpness and details. And perfect BG.
Maybe a less centered composition would work fine.

Congrats

You captured some really nice detail, Barbara. I like how the back of the spider seems to glow.

It works for me. I like the light on the body itself. I find spiders just fascinating in their shapes, colours and patterns. :wavey:

Hi Barbara:

I like the placement of the spider in the image. It is very sharp and with the right amount of web around it. I would have preferred a higher DOF to get the rear leg in focus if you had the option. Also, I find the bright ULC a little distracting. I would think of reducing the brightness and/or using flash fill.

Very nice image, nonetheless :toast:

Perfect sharpness to portray the colour and detail of the abdomen. I like the web fading into negative space and drawing the eye into the spider, beautiful.

I wouldn't change a thing Barbara, it's beautiful as is. I like the web as you've shown it in the BG, and the subject is set apart from the background very well through the use of DOF and color contrast. Very nicely seen and captured.
