Hello,

It has been a while since I have posted. I have been busy processing my photo's from my trip to Venice and Greece.

This photo was taken in early morning sunrise. ISO 400 150mm F22

Nik Software. Converted to HDR and then exported it to Silver Efex Pro.

What do you think? I am also posting one that is NOT done in HDR just B/W.

Which one do you like better?

Definitely like the first (HDR) version better for the contrast, though overall the scene doesn't really grab me. The things sticking out of the water are an interesting element, but this feels too wide to make them a strong focus.

Cindy,

I should have paid closer attention earlier as I think this probably should be in the Man & Nature gallery. Not sure what those sticks/posts are in the water, but general impression would be a former pier or dock or something. But then I noticed the stuff along the shore and the round think looks like a wine barrel.... well, that's neither here nor there.

Like Tony I think I prefer the contrast in the hdr version, but I do like the detail and tonal range of the rocks. I'm not exactly sure what you were interested in here, but I'm guessing it was the perhaps interesting patterns of the posts in the water and also maybe combined with the nice lines of the ripples coming ashore. If that's the case, you might try just a vertical crop excluding the rocks and things on the left.

You've got fabulous images on your site and I just don't think this one measures up to those.

Very nice image and composition. HDR is more dramatic and I like it. :toast:
