Mountain Home

It's funny how the right light can transform an ordinary scene into something special. Not that this scene is ordinary, or even special to some of you. In the persuit of bigger things, we often let ourselves be unimpressed with the little things. I'm glad I was there to appreciate this moment. Larger version included. I'd love to hear your thoughts

Love the glassy reflection and the framing of this happy comp. The darker background makes the trees stand up and sing!
Thank you! I have another shot or two from here that include the beaver lodge, but they are wider views as well. But, I might be able to fulfill your request in about a month!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks man, I'm glad you think that way. I just imagine there are those that due to whatever they may have seen in there experiences, might be underwhelmed by this. Not necessaritly here, but just in general. You know like maybe going from driving a Ferrari, to an old four door or something. I don't ever want to be in that state of mind. Maybe I'm wrong, hope so.

And regarding your comment. Agree 100%. Most of the joy I get is seeing and capturing the ordinary (stuff that gets passed by or never seen) and either letting the light transform the scene as you suggest OR transform the scene from behind the camera regardless of the light....
(I heard Yoda say that once. I think it went: Transform the scene you will)
I hope to see this in print one day soon.

I'd have to double down on all the accolades here as this is a wonderful capture of what usually would be just another mountain waterside shot. Can't agree more, some might pass this by heading to the next Wow! image they are searching for. Well this has plenty of Wow! for me. This wouldn't be the Lundy Lake Beaverpond would it?

Yes, that's the place, thanks!
