Brown Hare

I was on the hunt for brown hare early this morning, time was not on my side so I was staying close to home. The weather was very poor, heavy rain and wind. I was around the Eccles Tofts area near Kelso and searching the stubble fields. The hares are very much at home here as they blend in very well with the stubble. Its no accident that they choose these fields to forage for food as they give maximum security against predators due to their coloration. When they feel threatened they just sit still, and they blend very well into the stubble. It is usually very difficult to see them when they sit motionless in a stubble field.

A good story to go with the image, I particularly like the POV, to catch the hare at eye level.

Yes they are amazingly hard to see at times when completely in the open. I like hare shots so keep em coming! :toast: :toast:
