A followup to my last post. Another Sharp-tailed Sparrow. After Alan corrected the name from Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow, I looked it up in my new Crosley book (My Nat Geo guide is older) and the pictures of the 2 birds in there almost perfectly match my two. Amazing the difference in color between the two...this one being a little more on the orange side and the last post more yellow.
This was also from my "yellow bird' day at Brigantine. This one was taken about a half hour before the last post and it's a little wet from the morning dew.

Some of you will want me to clone out the extra reeds...I prefer to leave them, although I am debating about the one behind the tail...what do you think? I did clone out a little schumutz hanging from the bill and a very small green spot in LR corner.

50D, 500mm, ISO 200, 1/60, F4.5 First morning light

The DOF makes this work for me, as is. Nice catchlight in the eyes. Might consider eliminating some of the empty space on the left, but not a huge deal. Beautiful, soft light.

What an adorable bird with pleasing coloring. Nice pose on the reed. I would leave all the reeds in too.

Really like the colors, bird looks good against the muted grey background. I wouldn't clone out the reed, either one of them, I like that they are the color of the bird and break up the background.
