Found this very cooperative juvenile yesterday. Reposting because the previous version seemed darker than I remember. Nikon D300s with 300mm f2.8 lens and 1.4 tc. ISO 400, f5.6 Shutter 1/400. Thanks Ray

Love the thick lily pad setting, great perch Ray. Like this comp and POV also.

Great pose and comp and I like the intent stare...these are a favorite of mine. I would remove the 2 spots above the bird's back. Sharon

Very good image of this rather reclusive species, and an excellent pose. A bit lower POV would be nice, but still quite good as posted.
