I wanted to make the title, "Which one of these is not the same?"

I'm not sure there is enough separation or dof in this, but it came out so cool to me with the light globes I can't decide if it has enough to work.

5d, 28-135mm w/macro, tripod, f4.5, 1/60,

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Very creative take on a dandelion puffball. The round BG bokeh plays off nicely with the round puffball. I think a tad more separation from the BG would help showcase the puffball but then the obscureness of the puffball is also part of this photos' appeal. So I guess it depends on what you are trying to say with this as to which approach you use. Either would work in my opinion.

I like the effect of the light globes and how they mirror the subject. MIght try isolating the dandelion puff and using either contrast/brightness/vibrance or sharpening to bring it more into the forefront as the main subject. :wavey:

Really interesting thing you are doing here, Morris. Somehow I think a bit more dof on the seed head might work better, but you did this and it is really nice and if you feel it is what you wanted, I'm with you.

I like this a lot Morris, exactly as posted. I love the flares as compositional elements. If I were to do anything, I might brighten the viewer's left side of the image a little to bring it more into sync with the right side. I'm really impressed with composition and the image.

Morris I REALLY LIKE the shallow, yet gentle, transition in DOF from the main flower to the glowing globes in the BG. A wonderful dreamy feeling conveyed.

Morris: Put me solidly in the "works for me!" camp. This is a very cool image. One of those you can nitpick with "rules" but it rises above just on drama, power, artistic appeal, and tech choices like DOF and in my opinion, use of light. Very evokative.

WOW Morris, normally I am not a big fan of the light globes in an image, but this sure works for me. I like this as posted.

Morris:
Many thumbs up for creativity. Yes, the lens flares really add a lot to the image. Would even be better if you could emphasize the dandelion somehow - may be selectively brighten the left half of the dandelion.
