Birds in Hades

Shot this image this past weekend - it was a very pretty sunrise on the beach - gave off some intense light for a few minutes. I only managed to squeeze off three shots of this scene and, thankfully, I really liked the way this one turned out.

Large version available for better detail.

D2x w/ 70-200 VR @ 200mm (VR on)
1/125 @ f/11
100 ISO
No filters
Tripod (head loose, just used it for support)
Capture One 6, CS4, TK's actions

Your thoughts are welcomed and greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Bill,

Can a beach photo get any better than this? What more could you ask for?

Mmmm, juicy! Some beautiful intense warmth there. Very rich in light and color. The birds are wonderful too. Love that one!

I dunno, personally I could go for an SI swimsuit model about dead center, Youssef, but maybe that's too much to ask of Bill...

Otherwise, Bill--this is AWESOME! Really pulls you into the scene. The urhc might even be a bit too intense, it almost distracts from the rest of this great scene, but i love the birds, surf, and nice fast exposure! :toast:

This is one fine beach shot - and you had a model with you too! Looks like she provided some pretty good inspiration.

Wow, this is real nice Bill. The morning light is incredibly beautiful. The birds on the shoreline and the ones off into the distant sky add a lot to the image too.

Gary.

Better late than never... , but I gotta say this is just glorious Bill! For me, the birds just put this one over the top. And the dynamics created by the steep beach, the waves and brilliant light combine for a beautiful coastal image. Awesome!
